Carter-Ruck is very pleased to have participated in a panel discussion on 28 November 2024 generously hosted by King’s College London. The subject of the discussion was The Kadi Litigation: Sanctions and the Rule of Law. The event was organised jointly by King’s as well as the registered UK charity Justice.

The discussion was chaired by Lord Anderson KC, and the panellists included Guy Martin, Head of International Law at Carter-Ruck, Judge Kimberly Prost, Judge of the International Criminal Court in the Hague, Richard Barrett CMG (former head of the UN’s 1267 Committee’s Monitoring Team) and Professor Oana-Andreea Stefan, Chair of European Law and Director of the Centre of European Law at King’s College London.

The discussion was attended by delegates many of whom had travelled from all over the world, and focused on important issues relating to the Rule of Law and the ground-breaking litigation brought by the Saudi businessman and philanthropist Sheikh Yassin Abdullah Kadi, represented by Guy Martin of Carter-Ruck alongside Mr Kadi’s long-term adviser Maître Saad Djebbar.
