David Kezerashvili, philanthropist, entrepreneur and former Defence Minister of Georgia (in the reformist United National Movement), has settled his defamation claim against the BBC over very serious false and defamatory allegations published of him in April 2023, across four different BBC platforms. The action settled on terms that include the BBC withdrawing all four publications complained of, providing undertakings not to repeat the allegations, and agreeing to pay Mr Kezerashvili’s legal costs.
