The Court of Appeal has today ordered His Holiness Baba Jeet Singh Ji Maharaj, the leader of a Sikh religious sect, to pay £250,000 into Court by way of security for costs, as a pre-condition to him being permitted to continue his libel action against the freelance journalist, Hardeep Singh (represented by Carter-Ruck). This is a significant development in a case which has attracted considerable press coverage.
