Caitlin practises in the areas of media law, commercial dispute resolution and international law.
Caitlin’s media law experience is broad, covering a range of reputation, risk management and privacy matters including defamation, misuse of private information and data protection for private individuals, charities and companies. Caitlin assists with claimant and defendant work in both pre and post publication matters in relation to national and international press enquiries and publications. She has assisted at the pre-action complaint stage and in matters where it is necessary to commence formal legal proceedings. Opponents have included national newspapers, search engines, social networks and individuals. In recent cases, she has helped to obtain the publication of apologies, corrections and significant damages for clients. Her data privacy work includes assisting clients in asserting their rights under UK data protection legislation, including the Right to be Forgotten and online takedowns. She regularly works alongside external PR and communications advisors.
Caitlin has considerable experience in commercial disputes, including as part of the team dealing with a complex multi-party shareholder dispute in the Business and Property Courts.
Caitlin’s international law practice includes public and private international law and human rights. Her experience in international dispute resolution includes multi-jurisdictional claims in international courts and foreign national courts.
Caitlin graduated from the University of Cambridge with a First Class BA in English Literature before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law at City University and a Master of Laws in Legal Practice at BPP University.
Caitlin contributes to key publications on Reputation Management, Privacy and Data Protection issues.

Caitlin is currently acting in several high profile ongoing proceedings, both claimant and defendant, for individuals and corporate bodies.
She has assisted in the following recent cases:
- Acting for the Defendants in a November 2024 Court of Appeal hearing considering the defence of qualified privilege under s.15 of the Defamation Act 1996
- Acting for the Claimant in Bates v Rubython, helping to secure £150,000 in damages, a s.12 Summary and an injunction. The press release is available here
- Acting for the Claimant in a recent Preliminary Issues Trial, where the publication complained of was found to be defamatory and did not constitute a fair an accurate report of legal proceedings. The press release is available here

- Assisted in obtaining the prompt removal of articles containing false allegations published by a prominent national newspaper, the publication of an apology and obtaining significant damages
