Parliamentary Investigations

We represent people subject to parliamentary investigations and investigations by political parties as well those individuals raising complaints about the conduct of Members of Parliament or the House of Lords.

Navigating the complex system of rules and procedures governing the conduct of parliamentarians is challenging, even for seasoned politicians. The rules and codes of conduct to which those holding public office are subject have changed very significantly over the last two decades and continue to evolve.

Our expertise in media law and reputation management means we are also uniquely placed to advise on the media scrutiny and other reputational difficulties which a person involved in a parliamentary investigation process is likely encounter.

How we can help

We advise those facing allegations of misconduct, helping them to navigate the procedural aspects of the investigative process, including appeals, and advising on submissions.

We offer advice to those who have been the victim of misconduct – for example harassment or bullying by another Member and give guidance throughout the complaints process.

Investigations by political parties

Each political party has its own sets of rules and procedures for dealing with alleged misconduct. We can provide advice and guidance throughout the process, whether on behalf of a complainant or on behalf of those accused of misconduct so that they have a proper opportunity to respond to allegations.

24/7 Partner-led Crisis Response

We have a 24-hour, 365 days of the year crisis management response team – one of our specialist partners is always available to respond to urgent crises at any time.
